ABOUT THE PROGRAMS

Our Hungarian programs are arranged for English language, or English speaking people, or Hungarian people, who want to spend some time in English speaking atmosphere. The programs are available from May to the end of September. If it is possible, please, let us know your requests and bookings at least about one month before a weekly program. The one week special program runs with minimum 4, maximum 6 people. In the case of 2-3 people our prices become higher for one person. Different requests are catered for; in these cases our guests get personal programs and price offers.

Examples:

• some guests want different accommodations, but not the offered ones
• some guests want to spend the 7 nights on different accommodations, but not at one place
• some guests want to spend shorter, or longer time in Hungary, than 7 nights
• some guests want less, or more programs, than the offered ones.

The parts of the days of the programs, or the days of the programs can be replaced (depending on weather, special guests’ requests or other circumstances), and suited to our guests’ wishes.

OPTIONAL PROGRAMS

There can be more personal requests, as optional programs arranged.

Examples:

• 1 day Budapest tour (after the day you arrive to Hungary, or on the day before you leave Hungary)
• Air balloon tour
• Horse riding
• Shooting
• Water sports (jet-ski, diving, water ski etc.)
• 1 day tours on protected areas
• Boat tour on the Lake Balaton
• Folklore musical programs on special dates
• More wine tasting on different places
• More wellness programs
• Bird-watching for nature photographers
• Any other programs requested by guests
  

PRICES

One of the price paying possibilities is the £140/person (or £110/person, if you arrive to Balaton Airport) basic ticket, based on 4 people minimum.

The price includes the following:

• transfer from the airport to the accommodation, and back
• transfers to the scenes of the programs and transfers to the accommodations every night
• tour guide on some scenes
• accommodation arranging
• help with buying tickets at places where the arranger is not involved in the activity, and the ticket was not bought before,
• and the last night Hungarian Goulash Meal.

In this case our guests have to buy their own tickets into swimming-pools, museums etc. with Hungarian currency (Ft). You can read the 2008 prices next to the programs.

The other paying possibility is the £265/person ( or £235/person, if you arrive to Balaton Airport) whole value ticket, which includes all of the above and the following:

• ticket to the Gocseji Village Museum and Finno-Ugric/Ugrian Ethnographic Park
• ticket to the Helikon Castle Museum (Festetics Castle)
• ticket to the buffalo reservation
• ticket to the bird watching and viewing the Hungarian native grey bull herd OR ticket to the basic tour in a highly protected cave
• tickets to swimming-pools/thermal-baths/thermal-lakes/aqua park for 4 occasions
• one lunch OR dinner in a Csarda (special Hungarian restaurant)
• one wine tasting with dinner
• bio- food-products tasting
• visit to the apiary
• cave boat trip OR one hour sailing on the Lake Balaton

ONE WEEK SPECIAL PROGRAM

0. ARRIVING DAY: TRANSFER

Guest transfer from the airport to the accommodation (0,5-4 hour travelling), introduction to the accommodation owners, swapping useful information.

1. DAY: FOLKLORE, VILLAGE TOURISM, GASTRONOMY, AQUA

Morning: A visit to Barakonyi Istvan potter artist, and view his collection (Heviz), get information about the one-time potter trade, we can see a short work demonstration, and the ceramics of the regions of Hungary (half-1 hour).

A visit to the Gocseji Village Museum and Finno-Ugric Ethnographic Park (Zalaegerszeg, 500 Ft ≈ £1.70/person), introducing of the elements of the architecture and living culture of the past Gocsej (half-1 hour).

Lunchtime: lunch in a Csarda (special Hungarian restaurant, 2000-5000 Ft ≈ £6.50-17.00 - alcohol not included - depending on what, and how much guests want to eat, 1-1,5 hour).

Afternoon: Optional aqua possibilities: Aquacity Zalaegerszeg, Aquatherma Zalaegerszeg, Spa Zalakaros, Lake Gebart (2-4 hours, 600-3000 Ft ≈ £2.00-9.70 depending on which alternative our guests choose. There is special supplying of Spa Zalakaros, that guests can require for extra charge (weight-, CO2-, galvanic- and other kind of baths, sauna, pedicure, massage, feet massage etc. 1100-3300 Ft ≈ £3.60-10.70).

2. DAY: ECOTOURISM, HEALTH-CARE, WELLNESS, AQUA

Morning: visit apiary nearby, introduction of the life, communication, work of the bees, production of the honey, view the honey collection, honey tasting (half-1 hour).

A visit to a bio-shop and health centre (Gyenesdias, half-1 hour), introduction of the elements of the bio-gardening, the advantages and producing of the bio-food-products. Bio-vegetables, fruits, cereals, bakeries, vines, vegetable-milk tasting. Guests can require more supplying for extra charge (bio-cosmetics, jade stone massage, magnetic treatment, biotron lamp treatment, detoxication, reflexology, sailing, horse riding, shooting, fishing, squash, tennis, etc. 1000-10.000 Ft ≈ £3.30-33.30).

3. DAY: ECOTOURISM, WINE TASTING, GASTRONOMY

Morning: a visit to the Buffalo Reservation (Kapolnapuszta, 500 Ft ≈ £1.70/person, 1,5-2,5 hour), introduction of the native Hungarian species, viewing of the buffalo history demonstration.

Optional tour in a highly protected cave (Balatonederics), where our guests can see strange formations, dripstones, stalagmites (5000-8000 Ft ≈ £16.20-25.90 depending on which tour the guests choose, there are a basic, but not too easy, and an extreme one. They supply overalls, head-lamps and leading, it is not practical to wear street clothes.

Afternoon: wine tasting with accompanying pastries, cheese, etc. dinner at the same restaurant/ wine cellar (2000-5000 Ft ≈ £6.50-16.20 – only the tasted wines included, as alcohols - depending on which restaurant the guests choose, and what menu they eat, 1,5-2 hours).

4. DAY: CULTURE, THERMAL BATH

Morning: a visit to the Festetics Castle (Keszthely, 1500 Ft ≈ £4.90 Guests can require special English tour leading for extra charge, which is 7000 Ft ≈ £22.60/group, or they can easily get English language brochures, leaflets for a few £ or free, and read them, avoiding the high charge of the tour leading. Viewing of the one of the biggest baroque castles of Hungary, with its 101 rooms (1-2,5 hour).

Afternoon: Aqua possibilities: Lake Balaton or Lake Heviz (450-2200 Ft ≈ £1.50-7.10 depending on what alternative our guests choose, or how long time they want to spend at the thermal lake (2-4 hours).

5. DAY: ECOTOURISM, AQUA

Morning: bird-watching from a boat (only between 1st of June and 31st of August, on Wednesdays, Saturdays. The guests who want to require a week program before the 1st of June, or after the 31st of August, can go on the basic version of the highly protected cave tour instead of the bird-watching, which are on the same price. 5000 Ft ≈ £16.20), viewing of the life, the brooding of several bird species on the Little-Balaton (2-3 hours). Introduction of he native Hungarian grey cattle herd (Fenekpuszta).

6. DAY: ECOTOURISM OR WATER SPORTS, AQUA, GASTRONOMY

Morning: boat trip in a protected cave (Tapolca, 1-1,5 hour, 1000 Ft ≈ £3.30) OR sailing on the Lake Balaton (3500-7000 Ft ≈ £12.00-24.00 depending on how long time our guests want to spend with sailing, 1-2 hours).
